About this site
The Aalto University School of Chemical Technology website chem.aalto.fi was launched on 18 April 2011. The website operates in parallel with the Aalto University website aalto.fi.
Feedback, questions or improvement suggestions related to the site can be sent via the Feedback button at the bottom of the page, or by email to viestinta-chem [at] aalto [dot] fi.
The visual identity of the website is designed by Advertising Agency PHS and it is based on the visual identity of the Aalto University created by Rasmus Snabb. Nemein is responsible for the technical implementation, and the website is built on Midgard content management system.
The site consists of six main sections that can be accessed via the horizontal menu at the top of the page (News & Events, Studies, etc.). In addition, there is information for specific target groups, including alumni, media, partners and prospective applicants.
Each page has three content frames, where the left-hand one contains the menu, the middle one provides the main content of the page, and the right-hand one has links, further information and connections to the different language versions.
At the top of every page are links to Aalto University’s and its other schools’ web services, contact information and the text version of the site, as well as a search field. All links open in the same browser window.
At the bottom of each page are links to the RSS feed page, a site map, the unit in charge of the page, the print function, the feedback form, and “About this site” page.
The front page has current information – news and events – and shortcuts to most popular pages. In addition, there is a list of the departments of the School containing links to the departments’ own websites.
