Guilds

The school guilds organise a varied programme of sports, cultural events and fun get-togethers for students.

The Association of Process Engineers (Prosessiteekkarit)

The Association of Process Engineers is a student association for bachelor’s degree students at the School of Chemical Technology and was founded in December 2012. The purpose of the association is to bring students together and introduce new members of the education sector and to support its members in creative and student spirited activities.

The Chemistry Guild

The history of the Chemistry Guild begins from 1891; making it the oldest guild in Aalto University. The guild offers many kinds of activities in the form of sports, culture, excursions, sauna evenings and general get-togethers. The history of the Chemistry Guild dates back to 1891 and the guild is the oldest of the guilds at Aalto University.  An important task of the Guild is supervision of the interests of its members.

The Forest Product Guild (Puunjalostuskilta)

The Forest Product Guild (PJK) is a guild for forest product technology and biotechnology students, which combines professional and free time activities. The guild's mission is to provide its members with food for the body, mind and soul, as a counterbalance to the rigours of student life by arranging numerous events throughout the year. The guild also organises numerous excursions through its contacts with industry.

Guild of Mining and Metallurgy Students (Vuorimieskilta)


The Guild of Mining and Metallurgy Students was founded in 1947, and is nowadays the guild for the students studying in the Degree Programme for Materials Science and Engineering at Aalto University. The guild organises many different activities for its members. There are for example parties, "sitsit" dinner parties, sporting events and sauna evenings. Internationality is important for the Guild, especially in the form of the IFMMS International Student Weeks. We have close-knit relations with industrial companies and organise many excursion visits to see the industry, mostly the fields of metals and mining. The guild also takes care of the relations between the students and the Department of Materials Science and Engineering.
